Notable Full Self Driving Companies For 2023
In my opinion, the following car manufacturers and technology companies have been leading the race in full self-driving (FSD) technology. I hope to see this list expand as I believe it will be very good for humans as we seek to put our minds toward solving health care and scientific problems instead of driving. Here are the companies that I believe should be taken seriously and supported in every way possible.
Tesla — Known for their advanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) systems, Tesla has made significant advancements in autonomous driving technology. There are by far more beta testers driving the FSD Beta vehicles than any other companies cars. Elon Musk, whether you love him or hate him, deserves some credit for this.
Waymo (Alphabet) — Waymo, owned by Google’s parent company Alphabet, has been a major player in self-driving technology, with their Waymo One autonomous taxi service already in operation in several cities in the US.
Mercedes-Benz — The German automaker has been working on autonomous driving technology through their DRIVE PILOT system, which offers advanced driver-assistance features.
Cruise (General Motors) — Cruise, a subsidiary of General Motors, has been testing its self-driving technology in San Francisco and is aiming to launch a self-driving taxi service.
Argo AI (Ford and Volkswagen) — Argo AI is a self-driving technology company backed by Ford and Volkswagen. They have been testing autonomous vehicles in several cities across the US.
NIO — This Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer has been developing autonomous driving technology, with plans to introduce a Level 4 self-driving system in the future.
Aptiv — Partnered with Lyft, Aptiv has been testing autonomous vehicles in Las Vegas, offering self-driving rides to Lyft users.
Baidu — The Chinese tech giant has been working on its Apollo self-driving platform, partnering with several automakers to develop and test autonomous driving technology.
Please note that advancements in FSD technology are being made continuously, and the list of leading companies might change as new players emerge or existing players make significant advancements. Please share your comments on this blog post and I would love to discuss each company and technology in more detail.
