I love my job so much that I want to share ideas for how to make the system work way better. There needs to be more settings for Dashers so that don’t just rely on what the algorithm wants Dashers to do without Dasher input as to what each Dasher wants. Sure, there will still be Dashers accepting orders that takes them in a direction away from their preferable direction. If more settings are available then the Dasher, customer and even the Doordash company will gave a far better experience.
Sadly, you can’t input data into the system to tell the algorithm which direction you want to go. Imagine you are about to end your dash and know you will accept any order going in the direction of your home and will decline all other orders. Imagine another driver who already planned to accept orders in the opposite direction of any amount, but wants to prioritize a long distance dash because they need to head South for many miles.
If this kind of data could be fed into the algorithm, many benefits would unfold. Dashers and food delivery customers would waste less time waiting for good orders. Dashers would…
