AI Will Make All of Our Lives Better Beyond Our Wildest Imaginations
AI is best for tasks that are routine, predictable, and follow a clear set of rules. Jobs heavily based on these types of tasks are the most vulnerable to automation.
Jobs that demand creativity, empathy, critical thinking, and hands-on skills are much harder for AI to mimic, meaning they’re more likely to be “AI-proof”. Healthcare is a great example. Jobs like doctors and nurses are no where near replacable with robots. These high pressure job require quick and complex decision-making AI can assist with things like diagnosis and data analysis, but there are millions of different options to choose from when trying to treat a patient both for short-term emergency help and for long-term preventative maintance care.
Similarly, skilled trades like electricians, plumbers, and mechanics involve problem-solving, dexterity, and hands-on knowledge that AI systems struggle to match. The creative fields are also promising for humans. Jobs like artists, musicians, writers, and designers rely on originality, imagination, and the ability to connect emotionally with an audience. While AI can generate art and music, it lacks the depth and originality that makes human-made work unique. Therapists, social workers, and counselors are other “AI-proof” professions because empathy, understanding nuances of human behavior, and building relationships are their core skills.
